Previously, British design and architecture studio Heatherwick Studio accepted the invitation of IM Motors to design an electric car, the Airo. It’s an innovative electric car that purifies the air while driving and is expected to go into production next year.
Now Airo has a new function, scaled down model ornaments, which can be used in offices and bedrooms. It turned out that some time ago, Heatherwick commissioned Ogle to make a 1:4 scale Airo model (1200 mm long) for the customer.
In order to perfectly restore the details of Airo, Ogle decided to use an SLA 3D printer to make the model. Since Heatherwick provided the CAD model, Ogle first spent about 180 hours creating a 3D model of the Airo. They then used an SLA 3D printer to print the main body of Airo (due to its large size, the main body was divided into two parts) and clear glass, after sanding, the two parts were assembled, and finally painted and polished to a high standard level.
After the meticulous work of Ogle experts, the final scaled-down Airo model presents a very detailed effect. Very impressive.
